Source hierarchy
- Primary. Regulatory filings, official statistics, technical documentation, peer-reviewed papers, standards bodies, direct company statements.
- Data. Public datasets and licensed data from grid operators, statistical agencies, research indices and market data providers.
- Reports. Research from institutions such as the International Energy Agency, academic groups and established industry analysts.
- News. Reporting by outlets with published corrections policies, used to corroborate and contextualise.
- Company. Press releases and blogs, treated as claims to verify rather than facts.
Trend Radar inputs
The radar ingests only permitted sources: official APIs (Google Search Console, YouTube Data API, Reddit API, arXiv), RSS feeds from publishers that allow syndication, licensed social listening data and public datasets. It does not scrape sites that prohibit it.
Bibliography
Every article lists its sources. The research desk maintains a compiled bibliography for recurring topics, referenced in Sources sections as “see Sources page”. The full bibliography will be published here as it is verified.
